From Christianisations and Islamisations to (Hetero)Europeanisations: Transformations of Cultural-Historical Heritage on the European Margins

A multidisciplinary conference on issues of heteroeuropeanisations and cross-marginal territoriality,  co-organised by Institute for Literature of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia (Yordan Lyutskanov), Dipartimento di Studi sull'Asia e sull'Africa Mediterranea of Ca' Foscari University of Venice (Gaga Shurgaia) and INALCO, Paris (Timour Muhidine), is to be held in

Sofia, 31 March–2 April 2016.

Scholars in any subfield of Balkan, Caucasian, Coptic, Hispanic, Mediterranean and Near Eastern, North-Eastern European, Russian and Eurasian, Turkish, Ukrainian studies, in comparative literature and art history, historical sociology, cultural history and history of ideas are welcome to submit paper proposals.

Language(s) of communication:

English; upon agreement with the organisers, French, German and Russian shall also be possible
